Job summary

Elderwood Assisted Living at West Seneca is seeking a full-time Housekeeping Aide to maintain the cleanliness of resident rooms, common areas and offices on a day shift with weekend rotation. This role helps ensure neat, safe living spaces for our seniors.

Responsibilities include cleaning and disinfecting floors, furniture and bathrooms, moving resident belongings as needed, following safety rules, and practicing infection control. High school diploma preferred; must be at least 16 years old.

Qualifications

• Minimum age 16 years.
• High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Custodial, janitorial, housekeeping and/or laundry experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain cleanliness of general areas and assigned rooms of residents.
• Move residents' personal belongings and clean/disinfect floor, furniture, bed and bathroom when a resident is discharged or transferred to another room.
• Follow safety rules, and where applicable, maintain vigilance concerning fire regulations and hazards as stated in procedures.
• Practice infection control principles in cleaning methods and personal hygiene.
• Keep cleaning compounds and hazardous substances stored properly for the protection of residents and staff.
• Collect and dispose of trash and other refuse in such a manner that prevents the transmission of disease and does not create a nuisance or fire hazard.

Overview

Help us care for our seniors by providing neat, clean, and safe living and common areas at our Assisted Living Facility. Elderwood Assisted Living at West Seneca is searching for a full-time Housekeeping Aide. This is a full-time day shift position, including weekend rotation.

Housekeeping team members assist with ensuring the health and wellbeing of our residents by providing housekeeping support. This individual is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness of all facility areas, including but not limited to, resident rooms, common areas and offices.

Responsibilities

• Maintain cleanliness of general areas and assigned rooms of residents.
• Help move personal belongings of residents and clean and disinfect floor, furniture, bed and bathroom according to accepted procedures when a resident is discharged or transferred to another room.
• Follow safety rules, and where applicable, maintain vigilance concerning fire regulations and hazards as stated in procedures.
• Practice infection control principles in cleaning methods and personal hygiene.
• Keep cleaning compounds and hazardous substances stored properly for the protection of residents and staff.
• Collect and dispose of trash and other refuse in such a manner that prevents the transmission of disease and does not create a nuisance or fire hazard, nor a breeding place for insects and rodents.
