Job summary

Elderwood at Grand Island is seeking Housekeeping Aides to support our residents by maintaining a clean, safe environment. We offer full-time or part-time roles with a 6am–2pm schedule and weekend rotation to cover access across all facility areas, including resident rooms, common areas and offices.

Responsibilities include cleaning general areas, assisting with resident belongings, and following infection control and safety procedures while properly storing chemicals.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 16 years old.
• High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Custodial/housekeeping/laundry experience preferred.
• Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English.

Responsibilities

• Maintain cleanliness of general areas and assigned rooms of residents.
• Help move personal belongings of residents and clean and disinfect floor, furniture, bed and bathroom according to procedures when a resident is discharged or transferred to another room.
• Follow safety rules and monitor fire regulations and hazards as stated in procedures.
• Practice infection control principles in cleaning methods and personal hygiene.
• Keep cleaning compounds and hazardous substances stored properly for protection of residents and staff.
• Collect and dispose of trash and other refuse so as to prevent disease transmission and avoid nuisances or fire hazards.

Overview

Help us care for our residents by providing a neat, clean, and hygienic environment. Elderwood at Grand Island is seeking Housekeeping Aides. Full-time or part-time 6am-2pm available, all schedules required weekend rotation.

Housekeeping team members assist with ensuring the health and wellbeing of our residents by providing housekeeping support. This individual is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness of all facility areas, including but not limited to, resident rooms, common areas and offices.

Responsibilities

• Maintain cleanliness of general areas and assigned rooms of residents.
• Help move personal belongings of residents and clean and disinfect floor, furniture, bed and bathroom according to accepted procedures when a resident is discharged or transferred to another room.
• Follow safety rules, and where applicable, maintain vigilance concerning fire regulations and hazards as stated in procedures.
• Practice infection control principles in cleaning methods and personal hygiene.
• Keep cleaning compounds and hazardous substances stored properly for the protection of residents and staff.
• Collect and dispose of trash and other refuse in such a manner that prevents the transmission of disease and does not create a nuisance or fire hazard, nor a breeding place for insects and rodents.

• This position requires regular interaction with residents, coworkers, visitors, and/or supervisors.
