Job summary

Chautauqua Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Dunkirk, NY is seeking a dedicated Housekeeping Aide to maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for residents, visitors, and staff. This full-time role offers a daytime shift from 7 am to 3 pm and a pay rate of $16.25–$18.58 per hour, based on experience.

Responsibilities include cleaning resident rooms and common areas, following infection control guidelines, and supporting a team that values quality service and patient comfort.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• No prior housekeeping experience required; 6 months of housekeeping or laundry experience preferred.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Good communication and customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Clean resident rooms, common areas, and ancillary departments to maintain a safe and sanitary environment
• Clean windows, doors, mirrors, vents, garbage cans, and other facility surfaces on a regular basis
• Vacuum hallways, mop floors, and perform routine housekeeping tasks as directed
• Maintain housekeeping carts, equipment, and supplies in a clean and organized manner
• Empty trash and transport waste to designated disposal areas as needed
• Report maintenance concerns, safety hazards, and repair needs to the appropriate supervisor
• Follow infection control, HIPAA, safety, and facility policies and procedures
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and attend required meetings and trainings
• Perform additional duties as assigned
