Job summary

Commonwealth Lodging Management is seeking a diligent houseperson to ensure guest satisfaction and maintain high cleanliness standards across the hotel. The role involves assisting with guest requests, restocking supplies, and supporting front desk operations as needed.

Responsibilities include handling equipment safely, following OSHA regulations, and collaborating with team members to maintain a welcoming environment for all guests.

• Know hotel features/services, hours, rates, promotions, group activities, and daily operations.
• Operate and maintain equipment safely; use chemicals per OSHA regulations.
• Stock linen room with supplies and manage housekeeping carts and linen turnover.
• Clean and maintain areas including elevators, trash cans, rugs, carpets, and upholstered furniture.
• Maintain and clean pool areas, pool windows, bathrooms; service ice and soda machines and light fixtures.
• Move furniture, wash walls, and prepare rooms; remove dirty linen via chutes and hallways.
• Deliver items to guest rooms on request; handle lost and found items promptly.
• Assist coworkers and guests; report complaints to supervisor; remain in view while on duty.
• Know and follow hotel policies, brand standards, and department procedures.
• Assist in emergencies to protect guests and assets and return to normal operations.
• Provide guests with information on local attractions; know downtown area for recommendations.

JOB RESPONSIBILTIES:Always maintain positive guest relations and guest confidentiality.Work to resolve guest complaints, ensuring guest satisfaction and communicating effectively with guests as well as team members. Maintain knowledge of all hotel features/services, hours of operation, room rates, special packages and promotions, daily house count and expected arrivals/departures and scheduled daily group activities.Maintain complete knowledge of correct maintenance and use of equipment. Use equipment only as intended.Use all chemicals in accordance with OSHA regulations and hotel requirements.Complete daily report as instructed by supervisor.Stock linen room with supplies.Empty linen from housekeeping carts.Sweep and mop areas in front of elevators; clean all trash cans, and clean elevator track.Maintain pool areas. Clean pool windows and bathroom daily.Clean ice and soda machines on all floors. Dust light fixtures in hallways.Cleans rugs, carpets and upholstered furniture using a vacuum cleaner, broom and carpet shampoo machine.Wash walls and ceiling, moves furniture’s and turn mattress.Remove all the dirty linen from laundry chutes and dirty linen from hallways.Pick up trash from all floors after the room attendants finish for the day.Deliver towels, cribs, cots and other items to the guest rooms upon request.Turn in lost and found items immediately to the supervisor.Aid co-workers and guests as needed.Notify the supervisor of any guests’ complaints or comments.No houseperson is allowed in any guestroom at any time unless requested by the supervisor. All housepersons are to always be in plain view.Be familiar with all local attractions/activities to respond to guest inquiries accurately.Assists in handling emergencies to protect our guests and associates and preserve the building and its systems during emergencies. Will act as quickly and responsibly as possible to return the building to its normal operating status.Associates have basic knowledge of the local downtown area to provide guests with information and recommendations during their stay on property.Responsible for knowing and abiding by all departments, Commonwealth Lodging Management and hotel policies and procedures.
