Job summary

Priority Dispatch Corp. is seeking a dedicated Housekeeper to support housekeeping operations in a care facility. You will perform routine cleaning, sanitation, and safety tasks under supervision to maintain a clean, safe environment for residents.

Responsibilities include cleaning resident rooms, bathrooms, and common areas, stocking supplies, and adhering to infection control practices. Experience in healthcare settings is preferred, with focus on reliability and confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine and periodic cleaning of assigned areas.
• Dust mop and wet mop resident rooms, bathrooms, common areas, nursing stations, and medication rooms (under nursing supervision).
• Dust horizontal surfaces daily.
• Transport trash and contaminated waste to designated collection areas.
• Clean and maintain housekeeping equipment and carts daily.
• Follow sanitary, safety, and infection control practices.
• Observe MSDS/SDS guidelines.

Position OverviewTitle: HousekeeperReports To: Director of HousekeepingPurpose:Implement housekeeping procedures in an efficient, cost-effective manner to ensure a clean, safe environment that meets residents’ needs and comply with all federal, state, and local regulations.Delegation of AuthorityThe Housekeeper is authorized to:Implement housekeeping procedures in compliance with regulations.Participate in monitoring housekeeping systems.Notify supervisors when supplies are needed.Report equipment or facility areas needing repair.Duties & ResponsibilitiesCleaning & SanitationPerform routine and periodic cleaning of assigned areas.Dust mop and wet mop resident rooms, bathrooms, common areas, nursing stations, and medication rooms (under nursing supervision).Dust horizontal surfaces daily.Refill soap, alcohol, and paper towel dispensers.Transport trash and contaminated waste to designated collection areas.Clean and maintain housekeeping equipment and carts daily.Safety & Infection ControlFollow sanitary, safety, and infection control practices.Use authorized chemicals and cleaning agents as directed.Follow MSDS/SDS guidelines.Operate housekeeping equipment safely.Observe proper waste disposal procedures.Report faulty equipment or unsafe conditions promptly.Communication & Professional ConductMaintain courteous, respectful communication with residents, visitors, and staff.Maintain confidentiality of resident information at all times.Report unusual situations to supervisor or charge nurse.Promote positive public relations and represent the facility professionally.Administrative & Facility SupportUse housekeeping supplies efficiently.Participate in Quality Assurance and Board Meeting duties as assigned, including monthly reports.Attend orientation, in-services, and mandatory training sessions.Serve on facility committees as appointed.Develop positive working relationships with other departments.Accept additional duties as delegated by the Director of Plant Operations.QualificationsEducation & Experience:Ability to read and write.Ability to follow oral and written instructions.Previous housekeeping experience in an institutional or healthcare setting preferred.Knowledge & Skills:Knowledge of cleaning equipment, proper solutions, and materials.Ability to follow cleaning schedules and facility procedures.Effective communication with elderly or disabled residents, staff, and visitors.Physical RequirementsFast-paced work with repetitive motion.Ability to lift, push, and pull a minimum of 10 lbs.Prolonged standing, sitting, bending.Ability to balance and demonstrate proper body mechanics.Occasional crawling, kneeling, climbing, twisting.
