Job summary

Gardner White Furniture & Mattress is seeking a dedicated Housekeeping Associate to maintain cleanliness in our retail showroom and warehouse areas.

You will clean floors, restrooms, surfaces, and displays, restock supplies, and follow safety guidelines to ensure a safe, welcoming environment for customers and teammates.

This part-time role requires reliability, clear communication, and basic PPE knowledge; shifts may include evenings and weekends.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Previous housekeeping experience preferred but not required.
• Knowledge of safety procedures and guidelines related to cleaning chemicals and equipment.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Thorough understanding of safety hazards, PPE, and proper use of cleaning solutions.

Responsibilities

• Clean and maintain retail and warehouse areas, including floors, surfaces, restrooms, and customer seating areas.
• Sweep, mop, vacuum, and scrub floors regularly, paying attention to high-traffic areas and entryways.
• Dust and wipe down surfaces, shelves, fixtures, and displays.
• Clean and sanitize restrooms, replenishing supplies as needed.
• Empty trash receptacles and recycling bins; replace liners.
• Monitor and replenish cleaning supplies and restroom amenities; report shortages.
• Follow safety procedures to prevent accidents and handle cleaning chemicals properly.
• Other duties/projects as assigned.

Summary: We are seeking dedicated and detail-oriented Housekeeping Associates to join our team. The Housekeeping Associate will play a vital role in maintaining cleanliness and organization throughout the retail and warehouse areas, ensuring a safe and welcoming environment for our customers and employees.

Job Responsibilities

• Clean and maintain retail and warehouse areas, including floors, surfaces, restrooms, and customer seating areas, to uphold cleanliness standards and enhance the overall shopping experience.
• Sweep, mop, vacuum, and scrub floors regularly to remove dirt, debris, and spills, paying special attention to high-traffic areas and entryways.
• Dust and wipe down surfaces, shelves, fixtures, and displays to remove dust, fingerprints, and smudges, maintaining a tidy and presentable appearance.
• Clean and sanitize restrooms regularly, including toilets, sinks, mirrors, and countertops, replenishing supplies as needed to ensure a clean and hygienic environment.
• Empty trash receptacles and recycling bins throughout the facility, disposing of waste properly and replacing liners as needed.
• Monitor and replenish cleaning supplies and restroom amenities, notifying management of any shortages or maintenance issues.
• Follow safety procedures and guidelines to prevent accidents and injuries, including proper handling and storage of cleaning chemicals and equipment.
• Other duties/projects as assigned.

Physical Demands

• Ability to stand during the entire shift.
• Must be able to lift and/or move, bend, stoop, climb, reach, and frequently lift up to 50 pounds.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
• Previous experience in housekeeping or janitorial services, preferably in a retail or warehouse environment, is preferred but not required.
• Knowledge of safety procedures and guidelines related to cleaning chemicals and equipment is a plus.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact professionally with customers and colleagues.
• Thorough understanding of safety hazards, personal protection equipment (PPE), and proper use of various cleaning and sanitizing solutions.
