Position Summary
The YMCA of Collier County is seeking a dependable,service-oriented Housekeeper to help maintain a clean, safe, welcoming, andattractive environment for members, guests, program participants, volunteers,and staff.
The Housekeeper is responsible for the cleanliness andsanitation of assigned areas and for performing routine housekeeping dutiesthroughout the YMCA facility. This position uses cleaning supplies, equipment,and approved sanitation methods to maintain high standards of cleanliness andsafety. The Housekeeper also monitors housekeeping supplies, reportsmaintenance needs, and responds to light maintenance requests as appropriate.

Essential Functions
- Sweep,mop, scrub, dust, and vacuum floors, hallways, stairs, locker rooms,bathrooms, activity areas, offices, and other assigned spaces.
- Cleanand sanitize high-touch surfaces, restrooms, locker rooms, and otherhigh-use areas.
- Emptyand properly dispose of trash and garbage from assigned areas.
- Cleanand maintain interior and exterior areas of the YMCA to ensure thefacility remains clean, attractive, and professional.
- Operatecleaning equipment and machines safely and according to establishedprocedures.
- Usecleaning products and chemicals in accordance with labels, safetyrequirements, and approved YMCA sanitation procedures.
- Maintainassigned housekeeping areas according to a routine cleaning scheduleestablished by the supervisor.
- Routinelymonitor locker rooms, bathrooms, and other high-use or high-risk areas andreport concerns to management.
- Ensureunused rooms, storage areas, and closets are secured as required.
- Notifymanagement when housekeeping supplies are low and assist with maintainingappropriate inventory levels.
- Notifymanagement of needed repairs, damaged equipment, unsafe conditions, orother facility concerns.
- Respondpromptly and professionally to light maintenance requests within the scopeof the position.
- Followall YMCA safety policies and procedures to help maintain a safeenvironment for members, staff, and guests.
- Participatein required safety, housekeeping, and other training programs.
- Assistwith facility preparation and cleanup related to programs, special events,and activities as assigned.
- Assistwith preparations for inclement weather when requested.
- Greetand interact with YMCA members, guests, volunteers, and staff in afriendly and professional manner.
- Maintainappropriate professional boundaries with children and youth.
- Reportsuspicious or inappropriate behavior and policy violations in accordancewith YMCA policies.
- Followall applicable mandated reporting requirements and YMCA child protectionpolicies.
- Performother duties and responsibilities as assigned by the supervisor.
Qualifications
- Highschool diploma or GED preferred; one to two years of related housekeeping,custodial, facilities, or janitorial experience and/or training preferred,or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Abilityto read and understand labels and instructions for cleaning solutions andequipment.
- Knowledgeof basic cleaning and sanitation methods preferred.
- Abilityto safely use housekeeping equipment, tools, and cleaning products.
- Knowledgeand understanding of basic workplace safety practices.
- Abilityto work independently and effectively manage assigned tasks.
- Abilityto communicate professionally and courteously with members, guests,volunteers, and staff.
- Mustbe dependable, punctual, detail-oriented, and committed to maintaining ahigh standard of cleanliness.
- Mustbe willing and able to work a flexible schedule, including evenings,weekends, and holidays as required by the needs of the YMCA.
YMCA Child Protection Requirements
Because YMCA employees work in an environment where childrenand youth may be present, all employees are expected to contribute to a safeand welcoming environment.
- Completerequired Child Abuse Prevention and Abuse Risk Management training beforeor on the first day of employment, as required by YMCA policy.
- Completeall required abuse risk management and child protection training.
- Adhereto YMCA policies regarding appropriate boundaries with children and youth.
- Reportsuspicious or inappropriate behaviors and policy violations in accordancewith YMCA policies.
- Followall applicable mandated abuse reporting requirements.
- Followall job-specific abuse risk management responsibilities.
Required Training & Certifications
- CPR/AED,First Aid, Oxygen, and Bloodborne Pathogen training are required within 60days of employment, in accordance with YMCA of Collier Countyrequirements.
- Additionalsafety, facility, chemical handling, or equipment training may be requiredbased on job responsibilities.
