Job summary

Apache-Junction-Health-Center is seeking a dedicated Housekeeper to maintain a safe, orderly, and clean environment in a long-term care facility. You will keep public areas, restrooms, and resident rooms spotless while ensuring floor safety and proper use of cleaning supplies.

The role emphasizes excellent customer service, punctuality, and the ability to work independently or with a team in a supportive facility. Training on safety protocols will be provided.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Fluent in written and spoken English.
• Ability to read and understand procedure manuals and directions.
• Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division).
• Ability to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds occasionally.

Responsibilities

• Maintain all public and common areas throughout the day (lobby, restrooms, floors).
• Clean and maintain resident rooms and bathrooms.
• Keep handrails clean and debris-free.
• Dust, dirt, or food removal from walls, mirrors, windows, light fixtures, towel bars and dispensers.
• Empty trash and replace liners; sweep and mop floors.
• Follow safety procedures and keep cleaning supplies out of residents' reach.

General PurposeDefine the roles and responsibilities of the Housekeeper within a long-term care facility. The purpose is to maintain a safe, orderly and clean environment free of obstacles and odors.Essential Duties• Maintain all public and common areas throughout the day including• lobby, restrooms, drinking fountains and floors.• Maintain the cleanliness of resident rooms and bathrooms.• Maintain handrails to ensure they are clean and free of debris.• Clean and remove dust, dirt or food off walls, mirrors, windows, light fixtures. towel bars, towel dispensers.• Empty trash cans and replace liners.• Sweep and mop floors.• Utilize proper safety measures when cleaning, including the use of caution signage and keeping supplies and chemicals out of reach of the residents.• Use supplies and equipment in a safe manner by following the user manual instructions.• Maintain housekeeping carts, equipment and storage areas in a safe, sanitary, clean and orderly manner.• Notify the Director of Housekeeping, Administrator, or Director of Nursing immediately regarding resident safety issues or concerns.• Notify the Director of Housekeeping when supplies are needing replenished.• Excellent customer skills and positive attitude.• Excellent time-management skills.• Ability to work independently or with a team.Supervisory RequirementsThis position does not have any supervisory responsibilities.QualificationEducation and/or ExperienceMinimum requirement to perform the essential functions of this position is a High School Diploma or a GED.
