Job summary

American Campus Communities is seeking a Housekeeper for the UIC Academic & Residential Complex in Chicago, IL. The role involves cleaning resident rooms, common areas, and bathrooms to ACC standards, with opportunities for growth across properties.

Responsibilities include turnover preparation and maintaining organized back-of-house areas, under the supervision of the Service Manager. Prior experience is welcome but training is provided for growth within the company.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of general housekeeping and cleaning tasks.
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules and operating instructions, including chemical handling safety.
• Ability to understand and carry out written or verbal multi-step instructions.

Housekeeper - UIC Academic & Residential Complex

Department: Property Maintenance

Location: UIC Academic & Residential Complex - Chicago, IL

Reporting To: Service Manager

Compensation: $19.00 / hour

Description

As a Housekeeper, you’ll play a critical part in maintaining an ACC student housing community. In this role, you will clean and maintain the property, including amenities, to enhance the living experience for our residents. At ACC, there are always opportunities to grow in your career – whether it is by supporting nearby properties or on the job training.

• Clean the property to standard, including vacuuming, mopping, and trash pickup.

Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate for the Housekeeper role is a reliable and detail-oriented individual with experience in or willingness to learn housekeeping and property and apartment upkeep. This role includes maintaining cleanliness across common areas, common resident spaces, and turnover preparation.

Candidates should be able to follow established procedures, maintain organized work areas, and support property and apartment standards. Prior experience is helpful but not required, as candidates will have the opportunity to learn and grow in the role.
