Job summary

Pikes Peak Post Acute in Oregon seeks a dedicated housekeeping professional to maintain public and resident areas, including lobbies, restrooms and floors. You will ensure clean resident rooms and bathrooms and support safety with proper signage and equipment handling.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Experience in a long-term care facility preferred.
  • Ability to read and understand manuals and directions.
  • Fluent in written and spoken English.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain all public and common areas throughout the day including lobby, restrooms, drinking fountains, and floors.
  • Maintain the cleanliness of resident rooms and bathrooms.
  • Ensure handrails are clean and free of debris.
  • Clean and remove dust, dirt or food off walls, mirrors, windows, light fixtures, towel bars, and towel dispensers.
  • Empty trash cans and replace liners.
  • Sweep and mop floors.
  • Utilize proper safety measures when cleaning, including the use of caution signage and keeping supplies and chemicals out of reach of residents.
  • Use supplies and equipment safely by following user manual instructions.
  • Maintain housekeeping carts, equipment, and storage areas in a safe, sanitary, clean, and orderly manner.
  • Notify the Director of Housekeeping, Administrator, or Director of Nursing immediately regarding resident safety issues or concerns.
  • Notify the Director of Housekeeping when supplies need to be replenished.

Supervisory Requirements

This position does not have any supervisory responsibilities.

Qualifications
Education and/or Experience

High School Diploma or GED. Experience working in a long‑term care facility preferred.

Language Skills

Ability to read and understand procedure and instruction manuals and directions. Fluent in written and spoken English.

Mathematical Skills

Basic math skills of addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.

Reasoning Ability

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Physical Demands

Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Regularly required to sit, kneel, stand, walk and talk, read or hear. Daily use of housekeeping supplies and equipment (copier, scanner, fax, telephone, calculator).
