Job summary

Lindsay Gardens Nursing and Rehabilitation seeks a dependable Housekeeper to maintain a clean, safe environment for residents, staff, and visitors. You will clean public areas, resident rooms, and sanitize facilities while following safety protocols and using cleaning equipment per manufacturer instructions.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma (or equivalent) and a strong focus on cleanliness, detail, and teamwork to meet facility standards in a healthcare setting.

Responsibilities

• Clean and maintain public and common areas including lobbies, restrooms, drinking fountains, and floors.
• Ensure resident rooms and bathrooms are cleaned and sanitized regularly.
• Wipe down handrails to keep them free of dust and debris.
• Remove dirt, dust, and food from walls, mirrors, windows, light fixtures, towel bars, and dispensers.
• Empty trash cans and replace liners as needed.
• Sweep and mop floors throughout the facility.
• Follow safety protocols and store chemicals securely.
• Operate cleaning equipment and use supplies per manufacturer instructions.
• Keep housekeeping carts, equipment, and storage areas clean and sanitary.
• Report resident safety concerns to the Director of Housekeeping or Director of Nursing.

Supervisory Requirements

This position has no supervisory requirements.

Qualification

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Previous housekeeping experience in healthcare or long-term care setting is a plus.
• Ability to follow instructions and safety guidelines.
• Strong attention to detail and cleanliness.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to read and understand procedure and instruction manuals and directions.

Basic math skills of addition, subtraction, multiplication and Division.

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form

Physical Demands

• Frequent walking, standing, bending, and reaching
• Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 25 lbs.
• Repetitive motion tasks such as sweeping, mopping, and wiping surfaces
• Use of cleaning equipment and supplies throughout the shift
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and respond quickly to needs
