Job summary

Evercare of University is seeking a reliable Housekeeper to maintain clean, safe, and comfortable spaces for residents, families, and staff. The role emphasizes teamwork, attention to detail, and consistent cleaning standards.

You will perform daily cleaning in resident rooms, bathrooms, hallways, dining areas, and common spaces, coordinate with other departments, and follow infection prevention practices. Previous healthcare or hospitality experience is welcome but not required; on‑the‑job

Qualifications

• Previous housekeeping, environmental services, hospitality, or healthcare experience preferred, but not required.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Knowledge of cleaning products, equipment, and infection control practices preferred.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate daily housekeeping services with other departments to ensure efficient operations throughout the facility.
• Perform routine cleaning assignments in resident rooms, bathrooms, offices, hallways, dining areas, and common areas.
• Ensure the highest standards of cleanliness are maintained throughout the facility.
• Follow proper safety precautions and utilize personal protective equipment as required.
• Dust, sweep, mop, vacuum, and sanitize assigned areas according to facility procedures.
• Collect and dispose of trash and waste in accordance with established policies.
• Restock housekeeping supplies, paper products, and toiletries as needed.
• Maintain housekeeping carts, equipment, supply rooms, and storage areas in an organized manner.
• Follow infection prevention and control procedures at all times.
• Report maintenance issues, safety concerns, and supply shortages to the appropriate supervisor.
• Respond promptly and courteously to resident and staff requests.
• Attend required in-service training and staff meetings.

Summary

The primary purpose of the Housekeeper is to perform the day-to-day activities of the Housekeeping Department in accordance with current federal, state, and local standards, guidelines, and regulations governing the facility. The Housekeeper is responsible for helping ensure the facility is maintained in a clean, safe, sanitary, and comfortable manner for residents, visitors, and staff.
