Job Title: Housekeeper, Islander Housing Agency
Location: Corpus Christi, Texas

Salary: $7.25 per hour (up to $15 per hour, approximately $31,200 annually)
Purpose
Maintain cleanliness of assigned building and rooms, including resident rooms, hallways, common areas, and bathrooms. Perform routine custodial tasks and support work processes as instructed by the Maintenance Supervisor.
Responsibilities
- Custodial – 60% – Vacuum carpet areas, mop and clean tile areas, empty trash, clean bathrooms, restock supplies, identify areas requiring cleaning, complete tasks proactively, and maintain a professional image with students and staff.
- Support – 30% – Follow established procedures to ensure a safe working environment, report maintenance concerns via work order requests.
- Other – 10% – Perform additional related duties as requested and assigned.
Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills.
- Professional appearance and conduct.
- Knowledge of safety equipment usage, proper cleaning methods, and safety measures.
- Ability to work outdoors in temperature extremes, high noise levels, and lift up to 50 lbs repeatedly.
- Drug‑free workplace commitment.
- Ability to maintain the security and integrity of critical infrastructure, including communications systems, computer networks, electrical grid, hazardous or water treatment systems, or cybersecurity systems.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous professional cleaning experience.
- Housekeeping experience in residence life or college housing.
