Overview

Carlow University is seeking a full-time Housekeeper II. Responsibilities include cleaning and assigned areas such as a small building, a portion of a larger building, or a group of offices. Duties require making routine work decisions independently, although work usually follows established methods and work procedures. Employees in this class may perform duties such as ordering and reordering supplies for the storage space in their assigned area via the “Request for Supplies” form and distributing supplies to other Housekeeping employees, reporting needed repairs to a supervisor, and training new employees in the materials, methods, and practices used in cleaning operations.

Responsibilities

• Washes, waxes, dusts, and polishes floors
• Operates housekeeping equipment including floor scrubbers, buffers, burnishers, carpet extractors, and others
• Moves furniture and equipment; delivers bulk supplies
• Provides set‑up and preparation for banquets, special events, and special functions

Qualifications

• High school graduate or GED.
• Knowledge of OSHA regulations for chemicals and materials used in housekeeping operations.
• Four years of previous institutional housekeeping experience.
• Ability to communicate effectively in person.
• Ability to walk or stand 95% of the time.
• Valid PA Driver’s License.
• Applicant must complete a criminal background check, physical examination, and drug test.
