Job summary

PruittHealth in Swainsboro, GA is seeking a Housekeeper HCC to maintain a safe, clean, and comfortable environment for residents, staff, and visitors. You will perform routine cleaning tasks in accordance with facility policies and infection control practices.

No prior experience required; on-the-job training provided. Preference is given to candidates with a high school diploma and healthcare housekeeping experience.

Responsibilities

• Sweeps and mops tile floors and floors as per center procedures.
• Vacuums carpeted areas; handles waste and replaces liners.
• Cleans bathrooms, sinks, fixtures and toilets following procedures.
• Cleans glass surfaces, mirrors, and windows.
• Dusts and damp cleans surfaces in patient/resident rooms.
• Moves furniture to access areas and clean behind/underneath.
• Follows infection control standards during cleaning.
• Changes curtains and draperies for outside windows; re-hangs as needed.
• Removes dirt buildup around baseboards, corners, and doorways.

Description

JOB PURPOSE

Provides cleaning services to provide a safe sanitary, comfortable and homelike environment for residents, staff and the public. Housekeeping services provided are in accordance with facility policies and procedures and consistent with state and federal laws and regulations to maintain an environment that enhances the quality of life for residents

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Sweeps, damp mops, and wet mops tile floors. May occasionally be required to spray buff, strip or wax floors, following center procedures, including the use of wet floor signs.
• Vacuums carpeted rooms as applicable.
• Empties trash cans, cleans exterior, cleans interior, and replaces with a clean can liner.
• Cleans bathroom sinks, fixtures, and toilets, following center procedures.
• Cleans glass surfaces such as mirrors, pictures, and windows.
• Cleans behind and underneath furnishings.
• Follows infection control standards while performing cleaning.
• Prevents/removes wax/dirt buildup in corners, around baseboards, and in doorways.
• Changes soiled privacy curtains and draperies for the outside windows as needed.
• Removes and re-hangs curtains and draperies for the outside windows, using a ladder.
• Dust/damp cleans surfaces in patient/resident rooms (furniture, bed frames, windowsills, etc.) following center procedure, including the use of wet floor signs.
• Moves furniture to clean behind/underneath, according to center procedures.

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

None, on-the-job training is provided

ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS: (Preferred qualifications)

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Previous experience with healthcare housekeeping or environmental services preferred
