Job summary

PruittHealth in Ridgeway, SC is seeking a part-time housekeeping aide to provide cleaning services in resident and common areas. You will sweep, mop, vacuum, sanitize bathrooms, dust surfaces, and maintain a safe, comfortable environment in line with center procedures.

On-the-job training is provided; a high school diploma is preferred. No prior experience required. The role emphasizes infection control and attention to detail in a healthcare setting.

Qualifications

• No prior experience required; on-the-job training provided.

Responsibilities

• Sweeps, damps mops, and wet mops tile floors.
• Vacuums carpeted rooms as applicable.
• Empties trash cans, cleans exterior, cleans interior, and replaces with a clean can liner.
• Cleans bathroom sinks, fixtures, and toilets, following center procedures.
• Cleans glass surfaces such as mirrors, pictures, and windows.
• Cleans behind and underneath furnishings.
• Follows infection control standards while performing cleaning.
• Prevents/removes wax/dirt buildup in corners, around baseboards, and in doorways.
• Changes soiled privacy curtains and draperies for the outside windows as needed.
• Removes and re-hangs curtains and draperies for the outside windows, using a ladder.
• Dust/damp cleans surfaces in patient/resident rooms (furniture, bed frames, windowsills, etc.) following center procedure, including the use of wet floor signs.
• Moves furniture to clean behind/underneath, according to center procedures.
• Turns bed mattresses after cleaning.

Job Purpose

Provides cleaning services to provide a safe sanitary, comfortable and homelike environment for residents, staff and the public. Housekeeping services provided are in accordance with facility policies and procedures and consistent with state and federal laws and regulations to maintain an environment that enhances the quality of life for residents
