Job summary

PruittHealth is seeking a Housekeeper HCC to provide cleaning services in a healthcare setting, ensuring a safe, sanitary and comfortable environment for residents, staff and visitors. Responsibilities include floor care, room cleaning, trash removal, and routine infection control to meet facility policies and state regulations.

No prior experience is required as on-the-job training is provided; a high school diploma or equivalent is preferred and healthcare housekeeping experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• Previous healthcare housekeeping or environmental services experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Sweeps, mops tile floors and may strip or wax floors following procedures.
• Vacuum carpets in patient/resident areas as applicable.
• Empties trash and maintains clean receptacles.
• Cleans bathrooms, sinks, fixtures and toilets following procedures.
• Cleans glass surfaces such as mirrors and windows.
• Dusts and cleans surfaces behind and under furnishings.
• Follows infection control standards while cleaning.
• Moves furniture to clean behind/underneath as needed.

Description

JOB PURPOSE:

Provides cleaning services to provide a safe sanitary, comfortable and homelike environment for residents, staff and the public. Housekeeping services provided are in accordance with facility policies and procedures and consistent with state and federal laws and regulations to maintain an environment that enhances the quality of life for residents

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Sweeps, damp mops, and wet mops tile floors. May occasionally be required to spray buff, strip or wax floors, following center procedures, including the use of wet floor signs.
• Vacuums carpeted rooms as applicable.
• Empties trash cans, cleans exterior, cleans interior, and replaces with a clean can liner
• Cleans bathroom sinks, fixtures, and toilets, following center procedures.
• Cleans glass surfaces such as mirrors, pictures, and windows.
• Cleans behind and underneath furnishings.
• Follows infection control standards while performing cleaning.
• Prevents/removes wax/dirt buildup in corners, around baseboards, and in doorways.
• Changes soiled privacy curtains and draperies for the outside windows as needed.
• Removes and re-hangs curtains and draperies for the outside windows, using a ladder.
• Dust/damp cleans surfaces in patient/resident rooms (furniture, bed frames, windowsills, etc.) following center procedure, including the use of wet floor signs.
• Moves furniture to clean behind/underneath, according to center procedures.

None, on-the-job training is provided

ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS: (Preferred qualifications)

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Previous experience with healthcare housekeeping or environmental services preferred
