Xanterra Travel Collection’s Grand Canyon South Rim Lodges hires Housekeepers to maintain clean guest rooms and hotel spaces at the Grand Canyon Village. The role supports a fast-paced hospitality team and requires physical stamina for a 40-hour work week, including weekends, evenings, and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Daily cleaning of assigned guest accommodations to standards, including beds, bathrooms, dusting and linens.

• Maintain cleanliness of public or outdoor spaces and follow safety policies.
• Adhere to all safety procedures and use required PPE.
• Support sustainability programs and participate in safety/stretch routines.

The Details:

Position Type: Full-Time, Year-Round

Pay: $17.20 per hour
Schedule: Typical schedule is 40 hours, 5 days/per week (may include weekends, evenings, and holidays)

Responsibilities

• The Lodging department is committed to creating a culture of guest service at Grand Canyon National Park. All our roles in the lodging department, regardless of front or back of house, are considered guest facing/guest service positions. Our expectation is that this role will play a key part in achieving exceptional guest service.
• Daily cleaning of assigned section of guest accommodations to trained production and cleanliness standards, to include making beds, cleaning bathrooms, dusting, amenities, recycling/composting, removing dirty linens and completing closing duties.
• Ensures guest rooms are "guest ready" when cleaning is completed.
• Perform duties required to maintain cleanliness or safety for employees and guests including public or outdoor spaces, sweeping, shoveling snow, etc.
• Wear required personal protective equipment or weather appropriate attire for work in all four (4) weather seasons/conditions.
• Continually focus on providing exceptional guest service as a primary goal, both in how work is conducted and when interacting with guests.
• Maintain security of assigned keys and guest property in both vacant and occupied rooms.
• Strictly follow all company and departmental policies & procedures, including Lost and Found procedures, chemical/cleaning safety policies.
• Maintain safe body mechanics and a safe work zone while working. Participate in morning stretch program to ensure a safe working environment and report any unsafe conditions immediately.
• Report to Inspector, Housekeeping Supervisor or Manager, any concerns in the workplace, concerns with policies/procedures/safety or request for repairs.
• Adhere to all Sustainability programs as trained.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Able to meet all physical requirement(s) of the job, which include repetitive motion of all extremities and the back including continual kneeling, bending, twisting, lifting, pushing and long periods of standing/walking.
• Ability to maintain high quality of work & high energy while take more than 15,000-20,000 steps per work day at an elevation of 7,000 ft.
• Must have good communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to interact with and project the image of professionalism, friendliness, and willingness to provide personalized service to our varied customer base.
• Ability to balance and prioritize multiple tasks while remaining organized and efficient in order to meet required production standards.
• Maintain the company’s Core Values and Mission Statement in everyday work and project this level of service to our guests.

Physical Requirements include:

Constantly: Stand, walk, bend, lift/carry up to 10 lbs.

Frequently: Handle, reach outward/above shoulders, squat/kneel, lift/carry up to 20 lbs., push/pull up to 12 lbs.

Occasionally: Sit, climb, crawl, lift/carry up to 100 lbs.
