Job summary

Harmony Senior Services in Winston-Salem, NC is seeking a dedicated Housekeeper to maintain cleanliness in common living areas and resident apartments. Responsibilities include cleaning, laundry, reporting needs to supervision, and participating in required in-services.

Must have a High School Diploma or GED and be able to stand for long periods. A flexible schedule including weekends and holidays is required. Training and career development opportunities are provided.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Housekeeping experience highly desired.
• Ability to stand, walk, kneel, bend, grasp, push and pull for extended periods.
• Willingness to work a flexible schedule including weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Oversee cleaning of the entire facility, with emphasis on common areas and the apartment bathrooms.
• Complete maintenance request reports when needed.
• Report deterioration or damage to the building and furnishings to housekeeping supervisor.
• Operate the laundry equipment when needed.
• Report inadequate quantities of supplies to housekeeping supervisor.
• Use approved cleaning products and store supplies properly.
• Clean office areas when assigned.
• Dust and clean window blinds in the community.
• Dust all furniture, book shelves, etc. in resident areas.
• Vacuum common areas and resident apartments.
• Keep common area and resident bathrooms clean.
• Clean apartments at resident move-out.
• Attend required in-services and staff meetings.
• Maintain resident privacy/confidentiality and follow policies on release of resident information.
• Other duties as assigned

Job Description

The Housekeeper shall be responsible for cleaning common living areas and resident apartments in the community.

• Oversee cleaning of the entire facility, with particular emphasis on the common areas and the apartment bathrooms
• Complete maintenance request reports when needed
• Report deterioration or damage to the building and furnishings to housekeeping supervisor
• Operate the laundry equipment when needed
• Report inadequate quantities of all supplies needed to perform duties to housekeeping supervisor
• Use only approved cleaning products and ensure that all cleaning supplies are properly stored at all times
• Clean office areas when assigned
• Dust and clean all window blinds in the community
• Dust all furniture, book shelves, etc. in resident apartments and common areas
• Vacuum common areas and resident apartments
• Keep common area and resident bathrooms clean
• Clean apartments at resident move-out
• Attend required in-services and staff meetings
• Maintain resident privacy/confidentiality at all times. Follow all policies regarding release of resident information
• Other duties as assigned

Requirements:

• Must be able to stand, walk, kneel, bend, grasp, push and pull for extended periods of time
• Must be able to lift 25 lbs and carry heavy objects for up to 20 feet
• Must wear designated uniform during work hours and maintain good personal hygiene
• Must be willing to work a flexible schedule that includes weekends and holidays
