Job summary

Miramont Behavioral Health is seeking a full-time Housekeeper to maintain a clean, safe patient-care environment at Summit BHC in Middleton, Wisconsin. You will perform daily housekeeping tasks and support infection control efforts while ensuring rooms and common areas are orderly and well-maintained.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent preferred.
• Previous housekeeping experience in a healthcare environment preferred.
• Basic reading, writing and English comprehension required.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily cleaning of the facility including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting and bathroom cleaning.
• Clean facility rooms, baths, laboratories, offices and halls with appropriate equipment.
• Wash bed frames, linens and remake beds after discharge as directed.
• Keep utility and linen storage areas neat; operate commercial washers/dryers and launder as directed.
• Follow infection control standards and safety guidelines; prepare rooms for meetings and events.

Advises supervisor on environmental services equipment needs and repairs. Ensures that infectious waste and confidential disposal contractors perform as scheduled.**Roles and Responsibilities:****ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:*** Performs specific cleaning and custodial tasks in the general upkeep, sanitation and cleanliness of the facility. Conducts daily cleaning of the facility including, but not limited to sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, polishing of fixtures, general straightening, and cleaning of bathrooms.* Cleans facility rooms, baths, laboratories, offices and halls. Utilizes buffers, scrubbers, sweepers and carpet cleaning equipment as necessary.* Washes bed frames, brushes mattresses and remakes beds after discharge of clients, when applicable.* Keeps utility and storage rooms in neat and orderly conditions.* Operates commercial washers and dryers. Launders soiled linens as directed.* Attends to infection control standards, transports soiled linen to storage area and distributes laundered articles and items.* Sweeps, scrubs, waxes and polishes floors. Work is performed with careful attention to slips/fall risks during and after cleaning floors.* Cleans rugs, carpets, upholstered furniture and draperies. Dusts furniture and equipment.* Washes walls, ceilings, woodwork, windows, door panels and sills.* Empties wastebaskets, transports trash and waste to disposal area.* Disinfects rooms, furniture, fixtures, equipment, and supplies, using appropriate processes and germicides for cleaning equipment.* Conducts daily check of cleaning cart to determine inventory of supplies.
