Newberry Health Hospital is seeking a Housekeeper / EVS Technician to support night shift operations on an as-needed basis. The role ensures a clean, sanitary hospital environment following infection prevention protocols.

Responsibilities include cleaning multiple areas, applying germicides, and coordinating with nursing staff. Previous hospital housekeeping experience is preferred; reading and writing skills are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Prior institutional housekeeping experience preferred.
• Ability to perform short cycle, repetitive duties under instruction.
• Must be able to read and write.

Responsabilités

• Clean assigned areas including lobby, ER, bathrooms and other locations.
• Germicide countertops and high-touch surfaces; remove trash; mop floors.
• Clean discharged patient rooms per EVS protocol including spot-cleaning walls and washing furniture.
• Notifies the nurse’s station when patient rooms are cleaned and ready for admissions.
• Labor & Delivery area cleaning and sanitizing, including leaving floors dry.
• Responds to department pages and service requests in a timely, professional manner.
• Performs other related duties with a positive, cooperative, team-oriented attitude.

Position Summary

We are currently seeking a Housekeeper / EVS Technician to support night shift operations on an as-needed basis. This position is responsible for maintaining a clean, sanitary, and orderly environment throughout the hospital in accordance with prescribed infection prevention and safety procedures.

Essential Functions

• Cleans assigned areas such as the lobby, Emergency Room, Medical Records, bathrooms, and other designated locations.
• Germicides countertops, bathrooms, and high-touch surfaces; removes trash; dust mops and damp mops floors; and places "Wet Floor" signs as required.
• Cleans discharged patient rooms according to EVS protocols, including:
  • Spot-cleaning walls
  • Washing furniture and beds with germicide
  • Cleaning mirrors, sinks, toilets, tubs/showers, televisions, doors, drapes, and fixtures
  • Making beds with clean linens
  • Dusting, damp mopping, and vacuuming
• Notifies the nurse’s station when patient rooms are cleaned and ready for new admissions.
• Performs daily patient room cleaning, including trash removal, high dusting, germiciding surfaces, and floor care.
• Reports broken furniture, maintenance needs, or unsafe conditions to the Supervisor promptly.
• Labor & Delivery Area: Wears scrub attire and performs terminal cleaning by germiciding walls, floors, tables, equipment, and light fixtures; removes excess water from floors as needed.
• Responds appropriately to department pages and service requests in a professional and timely manner.
• Performs other related duties as assigned, maintaining a positive, cooperative, and team-oriented attitude.
