Job summary

Encore at Parkside is hiring a PRN - as needed Housekeeper for a 7am-3pm shift. You will provide clean, sanitary surroundings for residents, associates and guests, under supervision of the Housekeeping Manager and Lead Housekeeper.

Adhere to policies to maintain high levels of cleanliness. Qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent preferred, experience in healthcare or hotel settings, and the ability to read, write, and speak English.

• Follow OSHA, EPA, and State Health Department guidelines.

Job description

Encore at Parkside is currently hiring for a PRN - as needed 7am-3pm Housekeeper. The Housekeeper will provide clean, sanitary, orderly and satisfying surroundings for the residents, associates and guests. Under the leadership of the Housekeeping Manager and Lead Housekeeper, the housekeeper will perform housekeeping services according to established policies and procedures to maintain great levels of cleanliness.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Operate and maintain various cleaning equipment such as vacuums, mops, dust mops, sweeper extractors, scrubbers.
• Clean carpets, tile, wood flooring.
• Maintain facility in a sanitary and infection free condition washing, cleaning, replenishing and replacing supplies.
• Required to work in residential and common areas as well as public restrooms, pool and other recreational areas.
• Responsible for disposal of trash, waste, and may be required to clean human/animal waste in emergency situations.
• Must handle various cleaning chemicals and comply with regulations such as OSHA, EPA, and State Health Department. Read and understand MSDS and labels.
• May be required to perform tasks which involve exposure to visible blood or body fluids and must follow required procedures for handling, cleaning, disposing of material in accordance with OSHA blood borne Pathogens standards.
• Maintain daily and project schedules and notify manager of any changes.
• Perform window cleaning.
• Perform special cleaning requests such as assistance with leakage or spills in regards to plumbing situations.
• Assist in maintaining needed levels of supplies and chemicals and notify manager when needed.
• Must be flexible with ours and rotate weekends or shifts. May be required to work overtime in case of shortage.
• Adhere to all department and community policies and procedures such as attendance and dress codes, resident rights, HIPAA and safety.

ENVIRONMENTAL AND PHSYCIAL DEMANDS:

Physical Activities:

• Constantly standing, walking, talking, hearing, bending, squatting, reaching, and reaching with hands and arms.
• Occasionally sitting, twisting, feeling, grasping, climbing stairs, ladders or other climbing or balancing, crouching, crawling, kneeling, tasting, and smelling.

Range of Motion:

• Being able to move from shoulder and above, waist-shoulder height, and waist and below.

Weight Lifting Requirements:

• Being able to lift up to 25 lbs.

Vision Requirements:

• Frequently utilizing color vision (identifying and distinguishing colors), peripheral, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

Environmental Exposure:

• Occasionally being exposed to biohazard materials, chemical hazards, and body fluids/blood.

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:

Education:

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Experience:

• Have experience in healthcare or hotel industry.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Other Qualifications:

• Interest in the welfare of the residents, able to make light conversation while working around residents, visitors, and associates.
• Must be able to work around unpleasant odors and illnesses.
• To stand on ft for long periods of time.
• Must be able to read, write, and speak English.
