Job summary

WH Wheeling Hospital Inc. is seeking an Environmental Services worker to maintain clean, orderly areas across the hospital campus in Wheeling, West Virginia. You will clean patient rooms, exam rooms, and public spaces according to established procedures.

Responsibilities include replenishing supplies, making beds, reporting problems to supervision, and ensuring safety and sanitation standards are met in a fast-paced healthcare setting.

Qualifications

• Must have high school diploma or equivalent.
• Must be able to perform cleaning tasks including mopping and sanitizing.
• Must meet Department of Labor's Heavy Duty Standard.
• Capable of wearing PPE for extended periods.

Responsibilities

• Inspects and ensures areas are clean and in good repair; report problems to supervisor.
• Cleans patient rooms, exam rooms, and public areas following procedures.
• Removes trash and replenishes paper towels, toilet paper, and soap.
• Makes beds in patient discharge rooms and on-call rooms as assigned.
• Maintains equipment in clean, working condition and report issues.
• Moves equipment, furniture, and supplies as needed.
• Follows all safety and sanitation regulations.

CORE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Inspects and ensures that all assigned areas are properly cleaned and in good repair; report problems to the supervisor.
• Cleans all assigned areas, including patient rooms, exam rooms, public areas, toilets, procedure rooms, OR rooms, offices and equipment, following established procedures.
• Removes trash from all assigned areas.
• Replenishes paper towels, toilet paper, and soap in all locations of assigned areas to assure adequate supply.
• Makes beds, following established cleaning procedures in all patient discharge rooms and on-call rooms as assigned.
• Maintains assigned equipment in clean, working condition, reporting problems and suggestions to the supervisor.
• Moves equipment, furniture, boxes, wash walls, spot carpets, etc. as assigned.
• Follows all safety and sanitation regulations.

• Completion of annual required education related to specialty accreditation as defined by accreditation standards. Training may be completed through CBLs, trainings, In-services, and competency validation.
