Job summary

National Health Care Associates is seeking a dedicated Housekeeper to support our residents in West Hartford, CT. This entry-level role offers meaningful work in maintaining a clean, healing environment for residents and families.

You will perform daily cleaning tasks, ensure hygiene in all areas, and assist in maintaining a safe, organized workplace. Training is provided; growth opportunities exist within our long-term care facilities.

Qualifications

  • High school graduate or equivalent preferred.
  • Ability to read, write and comprehend English.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time efficiently.
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high cleanliness standards.
  • Knowledge of cleaning protocols, infection control, fire prevention and safety measures in long-term care are valued but not required; training will be provided.
  • Compassionate and empathetic nature.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.

Responsibilities

  • Perform daily cleaning tasks, including dusting, vacuuming, and sanitizing common areas and resident rooms.
  • Ensure cleanliness and hygiene in bathrooms, kitchens, and common areas.
  • Dispose of trash and waste.
  • Monitor and restock cleaning supplies as needed.
  • Collaborate with other staff members to maintain a safe and organized environment.
  • Respond promptly to housekeeping requests from residents and staff.
  • Operate cleaning equipment such as buffing machines, vacuums, etc.
