Job summary

Fayetteville Technical Community College is seeking a full-time Maintenance Technician to support campus facilities. The role includes cleaning classrooms, labs, offices and common spaces, trash removal, and assisting with the college’s recycling program.

Responsibilities also cover event setup, moving furnishings, snow and ice removal during winter, and working in an on-call rotation to address issues after hours.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Valid North Carolina driver's license with at least five years of driving experience and no more than one minor accident/violation in the past three years.
• Forklift certification must be obtained within one year of employment.
• Hepatitis B vaccination completed or to be obtained within six months of employment.

Responsibilities

• Perform operations involved with the recycling program.
• Clean and condition classrooms, labs, offices, and common spaces.
• Clean restrooms.
• Conduct setup and removal of arrangements for College functions and events.
• Move and relocate office, laboratory, and classroom furnishings and supplies.
• Perform general litter control within established building limits.
• Assist with snow and ice removal during inclement weather.
• Perform duties in an on-call rotation to support campus operations outside normal hours and report as needed.
• Perform duties before, during, and after normal operating hours and during campus closures as an essential employee, including support for special events and weather preparation.

Minimum Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• You must possess a valid North Carolina driver's license which requires five (5) years of driving experience with no more than one (1) minor accident or violation in the past three (3) years.
