Job summary

CHI St. Alexius Health Turtle Lake is seeking a compassionate Housekeeper to join our hospital support team. You will clean and maintain patient rooms and common areas to promote a sanitary, safe environment for patients, staff, and visitors.

Under supervision, you will follow infection-control protocols, handle waste properly, and assist with monthly tasks to keep the facility ready for care. A commitment to social justice and health equity is valued in our team.

Responsibilities

• Daily Patient Room Cleaning: Disinfects and cleans all surfaces, fixtures, and furniture, wet and dry mops floors, and properly disposes of garbage.
• Weekly Patient Room Responsibilities: Moves furniture for cleaning, dusts all surfaces (including windows, vents, and lights), cleans/disinfects garbage cans, and replaces supplies.
• Common Area Maintenance: Daily duties include cleaning hall handrails, vacuuming carpets, dusting hallway floors, and weekly wet mopping, with daily cleaning/disinfection of public bathrooms.
• Isolation Protocol Adherence: Practices strict infection control, properly disposes of isolation room waste, uses a fresh mop head per room, and utilizes color-coded cleaning rags.
• Clinic Daily Routines: Disinfects and cleans all bathroom and treatment room fixtures/floors, vacuums carpets, and properly disposes of both regular and red bag garbage.
• As-Needed & Monthly Tasks: Includes cleaning fans, replacing sharps containers, spot cleaning walls, shampooing chairs, cleaning AC filters, doors/trim, and replacing divider curtains.

As our Housekeeper, you will work under the supervision of the housekeeping supervisor. Every day you will clean and maintain assigned areas of the hospital in a sanitary and orderly way. You will be expected to promote a clean and healthy environment for all employees, patients and guests. CHI St. Alexius Health Turtle Lake is a 25 bed critical access hospital with a Level V Emergency Department that is available 24 hours a day. Our hospital has been committed to providing patients quality medical treatment in the Turtle Lake area and surrounding communities since 1952. Through the years, the hospital has sought to continually upgrade the quality and numbers of services it provides. The hospital's affiliation with major medical centers and health care agencies has allowed it to expand its health care services through a network that begins at the local level. CHI St. Alexius Health Turtle Lake is equipped with 2 emergency rooms, on-site lab, radiology, CT and physical therapy services. Our patients have access to 24/7 emergency care, swing-bed programs, and acute care services.

Pay Range

$15.00 - $20.12 /hour
