Job summary

St. Marys Hospital in Tucson seeks an Environmental Services worker to maintain a sanitary, neat, attractive, and safe facility. You will support multiple priorities while delivering high-quality customer service to patients and staff.

The role involves disinfecting surfaces, handling waste, cleaning bathrooms, stocking supplies, and performing routine floor care. Prior healthcare housekeeping experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Ability to read and to follow oral and/or written instructions in English.
• Ability to prioritize work and provide good customer service.
• Experience in healthcare housekeeping preferred.

Responsibilities

• Sanitizes all facility surfaces with germicidal cleaner per manufacturer specs; handles infectious and non-infectious waste.
• Performs discharge cleaning and detail cleaning of areas; mops tile floors.
• Cleans bathrooms and stocks supplies in areas, carts and supply room.
• Performs high dusting of ceiling vents and ledges, dusts surfaces below shoulder height.
• Vacuuming carpets, removing trash, delivering linen and laundry.
• Maintains records like discharges, linen weight, pager sign-out sheets and Kronos corrections.
• Maintains carts and chemicals safely around patients and visitors.
• Performs terminal cleans as needed and other related tasks.

Job Summary

Position Summary

Provides environmental cleaning services. Responsible to maintain the facility in a sanitary, neat, attractive and safe condition at all times. Responsible to handle multiple needs and priorities as they arise while still maintaining the highest level of customer service.

Responsibilities

• Sanitizes all surfaces of the facility using a germicidal cleaner, according to manufacturer specifications. Collects infectious and non-infectious waste in all areas in appropriate containers.
• Performs discharge cleaning/detail cleaning of all areas. Performs dust mop and mopping all tile floors.
• Cleans bathrooms.
• Stocks supplies in areas, carts, and supply room.
• Performs high dusting of ceiling vents and ledges over shoulder height.
• Dusts horizontal ledges and surfaces below shoulder height.
• Vacuums all carpeting and carpet edge, picks up trash and delivers linen/laundry.
• Cleans spots off of walls and doors and/or reports maintenance issues timely.
• Maintains accurate records including discharges, linen weight, isolation weight, pager sign-out sheets, cart sign-out sheets and Kronos corrections.
• Maintains cart and chemical supplies in a safe, secured manner around patients and visitors.
• Performs terminal cleans as necessary.
• Other related job tasks or responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications

• Special Skills:
  • Ability to read, to follow oral and/or written instructions in English.
  • Ability to prioritize work. Must have good customer service skills.
• Minimum Requirements:
  • Education: Ability to read, to follow oral and/or written instructions in English.
• Preferred Requirements:
  • Education: High school or equivalent.
  • Experience: Previous housekeeping experience in a healthcare environment preferred.
