Job summary

Responsibilities

• Carries out cleaning duties as directed by the Maintenance Director according to department policies and procedures.
• Ensures daily and deep cleaning schedules are adhered to.
• Maintains a high standard of personal presentation and hygiene.
• Ensures all cleaning equipment is used safely and reported defects to the Maintenance Director.
• Practices sensitivity to the privacy and individual needs of the residents.
• Adheres to infection control policies and PPE requirements.
• Completes daily documentation.
• Carries out other duties as assigned by supervisor.
• Dusts furniture, woodwork, equipment and dust-mops floors; polishes fixtures.
• Mops rooms and halls and other areas; shampoos rugs and furniture.
• Cleans vents, fans, top of windows, door frames and high surfaces.
• Gathers and disposes of trash and delivers linen supplies.
• Keeps work areas neat and orderly and assists with other cleaning duties.
• Treats all residents with dignity and respect and protects residents’ rights.
• Maintains confidentiality of protected health information.
• Reports occupational exposures to blood, body fluids, infectious materials, and hazardous chemicals.
• Other duties within scope of practice and abilities as assigned.

• Adheres to correct use of personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements.
• Ensures all necessary documentation is completed daily.
• Carries out other duties as assigned bysupervisor.
• Dustsfurniture, woodwork,equipmentand dust-mops floors.Polishes and cleans fixtures in rooms and bathrooms.
• Mopsrooms,hallsand other areas; shampoos rugs and furniture.
• Cleans vents, fan fixtures, top of windows, door frames and other high surfaces.
• Gathers and disposes of trash and waste materials using specified bags and containers.
• Moves furniture and other heavy objects asrequired.
• Performs terminal cleaning procedures of resident rooms and prepares rooms for new admissions; follows isolation procedures in isolation rooms.
• Cleans and disinfects all fixtures, floors, mirrors, windows,doorsand walls of bathrooms.
• Makes supply packs for departments and puts linen stacks inlinen closetsfor distribution.Takes supply requests and delivers them.
• Delivers linen to departments according to pre-established par levels and schedules.
• Keeps work areas neat and orderly, cleans equipment andassistswith other cleaning duties as assigned.
• Treats all residents with dignity and respect.Promotes and protects all residents’ rights.
• Followappropriate safety and hygiene measures at all times to protect residents and themselves.
• Maintains confidentiality of protected health information, including verbal, written, and electronic communications.
• Reports any occupational exposures to blood, body fluids, infectious materials, and/or hazardous chemicalsin accordance withfacility policy.
• Other duties as assigned within the scope of practice and abilities.
