Job summary

Bethea Retirement Community, now managed by Oakdale Seniors Alliance, is seeking a dedicated Housekeeper to join the Environmental Services team in Darlington, SC. This full-time daytime position focuses on creating a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for residents and staff.

You will perform daily cleaning, disinfection, and turnover resets while upholding dignity and respect for residents. Training is provided, with opportunities for growth and dependable scheduling.

Qualifications

• Previous housekeeping in senior living or healthcare is a plus, but training is available.
• Reliable with good attendance and time management.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 30 lbs.
• Friendly, compassionate approach when working with residents.

Responsibilities

• Resident Space Upkeep: cleaning rooms,Bathrooms, living spaces, and common areas.
• Deep Cleaning & Disinfection: disinfect high-touch surfaces per guidelines.
• Unit Turnover Prep: deep clean rooms for new admissions.
• Supply & Safety Management: restock supplies and report maintenance issues.
• Resident Hospitality: interact warmly while respecting privacy.

The Role

We are seeking a reliable, detail-oriented Housekeeper to join our Environmental Services team full-time.

Key Responsibilities

• Resident Space Upkeep: Perform daily cleaning and sanitizing of resident rooms, private bathrooms, living spaces, and common areas (dusting, vacuuming, mopping, trash removal).

• Deep Cleaning & Disinfection: Follow established infection control and sanitation guidelines to disinfect high-touch surfaces, care areas, and hallways.

• Unit Turnover Prep: Deep clean and prepare resident rooms for new admissions to ensure a warm, pristine welcome.

• Supply & Safety Management: Restock cleaning supplies, paper products, and soap dispensers; report any facility maintenance issues or safety hazards to leadership.

• Resident Hospitality: Interact warmly with residents, respecting their privacy, personal belongings, and dignity while working in their living spaces.

Qualifications

• Experience: Previous housekeeping, environmental services, or custodial experience in a senior living, hospital, hotel, or commercial setting is a plus, but not required—we are happy to train the right person with a great work ethic!

• Reliability: Strong attendance record, dependability, and time-management skills.

• Physical Abilities: Ability to stand, walk, bend, lift up to 30 lbs, and operate basic cleaning equipment throughout an 8-hour shift.
