Job summary

Sequim Bay Post Acute is seeking an Entry Level Housekeeper in Sequim, WA. You will clean resident rooms, bathrooms, and other facility areas daily in line with procedures, while upholding infection control practices and resident dignity.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma or equivalent and are comfortable reporting to the Housekeeping Supervisor. Strong communication and customer service skills are valued for a respectful, safe environment.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Housekeeping experience in a long-term care facility or institutional setting preferred.
• Must be able to read, analyze, and interpret information, and communicate effectively in English.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills, and empathy.

Responsibilities

• Clean assigned resident rooms and bathrooms daily according to facility procedures.
• Keep resident rooms and contents clean and orderly per resident's wishes.
• Clean other areas of the facility daily as assigned by Housekeeping Supervisor.
• Report any needed repairs to Housekeeping Supervisor promptly.
• Attend in-service education and staff meetings as required.

Housekeeper

Level: Entry | Location: Sequim, WA 98382 | Salary: $17.13 - $17.13 hourly
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

Responsibilities

• Clean assignment of resident rooms and bathrooms daily as assigned in accordance with facility procedures
• Keep resident rooms and contents clean and orderly in accordance with the wishes of the resident
• Clean other areas of the facility daily as assigned by Housekeeping Supervisor including:
  • Tub/Shower rooms
  • Offices
  • Kitchen
  • Day rooms
  • Activity rooms
  • Halls and lobby
  • Utility rooms
  • Nurses stations
  • Linen areas
• Treat all residents with dignity and respect when performing duties in resident care areas
• Be courteous, considerate and cooperative when communicating with all facility personnel, residents and public
• Practice infection control policies and procedures of the department and facility
• Secure cleaning chemicals in locked housekeeping cart or closet unless in immediate possession and use
• Promptly report any needed repairs to Housekeeping Supervisor
• Perform other housekeeping related tasks as assigned by Housekeeping Supervisor
• Assist Housekeeping Supervisor with weekly and monthly major housekeeping tasks when requested
• React appropriately to emergencies and disaster situations
• Attend in-service education and staff meetings as required

Qualifications

• Education: High School graduate or equivalent preferred
• Housekeeping experience in a long term care facility or as a housekeeper in an institutional setting preferred
• Must be able to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical information, and to be easily understood through verbal communication in the English language
• Must be able to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
• Must have exceptional communication and customer service skills, and be empathetic
