Performs housekeeping services for adolescents, children adults, and geriatric patients. Assists in the overall facility cleaning to ensure that residents are provided with an uncluttered and orderly environment.**Job Duties*** Performs basic tasks according to highly specific departmental policies and procedures in order to maintain an aseptic, clean, and attractive environment for the hospital.* Spot cleans walls, windows, furniture, and carpets.* Disinfects sinks, tubs, mirrors, toilets, urinals using proper disinfecting techniques.* Maintains adequate supply of soap, towels, toilet tissue, and other necessary items.* Makes beds; sorts and distributes linens.* Cleans and sanitizes all horizontal and lateral surfaces throughout the facility.* Offers suggestions to improve work methods or procedures and participates in the quality improvement process.* Utilizes cleaning chemicals properly and safely in accordance with department guidelines.* Keeps housekeeping carts and vacuums clean and in good working order.* Reports repairs or the need for replacements and follows up to ensure that the repairs meet facility standards.**Minimum Qualifications*** Less than 1 year* Ability to understand and follow instructions.* Knowledge of cleaning chemicals and equipment.* Knowledge of equipment such as vacuums and commercial washers and dryers.* Must have basic phone and computer skills (email, texting, etc.).**Preferred Qualifications*** High School Diploma/GED* 1 year Prior housekeeping experience**Physical Demands**Lift and carry 40-50 lbs. Examples: Push/pull patients on bed, stretcher (requires 29 lbs. push force), lateral transfers up to 50 lbs. of the patient's weight. Frequent to continuous standing/walking.
