Job summary

Beth Israel Lahey Health is seeking a Housekeeper for all shifts and varying schedules to maintain the cleanliness of assigned areas, ensure equipment sanitation, assist with function setups, bed moves, and stocking of housekeeping supplies. Staff will collect soiled linen and transport linen carts throughout the hospital.

Education/Experience/Knowledge/Skills required include knowledge of hospital infection control procedures and strong English reading and writing and spoken skills to follow

Responsibilities

• Responsible for maintaining overall cleanliness of environment of assigned areas.
• Maintenance and sanitation of equipment.
• Responsible for function setups and moving requests.
• Performs related services, such as bed moves, stocking housekeeping supplies, etc.
• Collect soiled linen from clinical locations throughout the hospital.
• Transport full linen carts to designated distribution locations throughout the hospital.

Education/Experience/Knowledge/Skills Required

• Knowledge: Demonstrate working knowledge of hospital, departmental and infection control procedures.
• Written Communication: Read and write in English to understand basic safety instructions and respond to basic questions.
• Oral Communication: Understand spoken English to follow safety instructions and respond to routine questions. Must be 18 years old.

Physical/Environmental Requirements

This job requires frequent bending, carrying, pulling, pushing, reaching, standing, stooping, walking and lifting over 10 lbs. There will be climbing stairs and pushing carts of approximately 600 lbs. Constant use of hearing, sight, speech, smell and touch. Occasional keyboard and telephone use. Constant concentration and problem solving.

Pay Range

$17.69 - $27.44 per hour. This position is covered by a collective bargaining agreement. The pay range reflects the base hourly wage the organization reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for this position at this time and is governed by the applicable collective bargaining agreement. Employees hired into this position will receive compensation consistent with the terms of the applicable collective bargaining agreement.

All staff must be vaccinated against influenza (flu) as a condition of employment.
