Qualifications

• Previous experience in housekeeping in a commercial, clinical or healthcare environment preferred.
• Valid state driver's license, where required in a facility.
• CPR and de-escalation and restraint certification required (training available upon hire and offered by facility).
• First aid may be required based on state or facility requirements.

Responsibilities

• Perform cleaning and custodial tasks to maintain a clean patient environment.
• Disinfect rooms, furniture, fixtures and equipment according to infection control procedures.
• Move and arrange furniture, clean kitchens, wash floors, and polish surfaces as needed.
• Launder soiled linens and maintain stock of cleaning supplies.
• Prepare rooms for meetings and facility events.
• Follow infection control measures and safety protocols.

Overview

Southwood Psychiatric Hospital offers comprehensive mental health treatment programs for children and adolescents ages 3-21 whose liveshave been disrupted by mental illness. Our facilityis located in the South Hills in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

We are currently looking to fill opening(s) in our Housekeeping department in both our Connonsburg location and our Main Hospital location. The ability to work weekend shifts is a priority.

PURPOSE STATEMENT:

Responsible for maintaining a clean and healthy patient care environment.

Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Perform specific cleaning and custodial tasks in the general upkeep, sanitation and cleanliness of the facility.
• Disinfect rooms, furniture, fixtures, equipment and supplies, using appropriate processes and germicides for cleaning equipment.
• Perform other housekeeping duties, such as move and arrange furniture, turn mattresses, clean kitchens, cooking utensils, silverware, sweep, scrub, wax, or polish floors as needed.
• Launder soiled linens as directed.
• Maintain adequate cleaning supplies for department/unit use.
• Properly clean and store all equipment and supplies after each shift.
• Prepare rooms for meetings and arrange decorations and furniture for facility functions.
• Responsible for stocking of supplies as needed
• Follow all infection control measures.

OTHER FUNCTIONS:

• Perform other functions and tasks as assigned.
