Job summary

Serenity Estates of Lena is seeking a dependable, detail-oriented Housekeeper to help maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for residents and staff in Lena, IL. You will perform daily laundry, cleaning, and sanitation tasks with a focus on infection control and resident comfort.

The ideal candidate has basic high school education, reliability, and the ability to work 30+ hours weekly including every other weekend. We train the right person and value teamwork and confidentiality.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Training provided for the right candidate.
  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds and perform physical tasks.
  • Ability to work 30+ hours a week including every other weekend.
  • Must be eligible to work in the United States.
  • Must successfully complete a pre-employment background check.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism.

Responsibilities

  • Clean, sanitize, and maintain resident rooms, bathrooms, hallways, dining areas, activity spaces, offices, and other common areas.
  • Dust, sweep, mop, and vacuum surfaces according to established cleaning schedules.
  • Clean and disinfect sinks, toilets, showers, tubs, mirrors, handrails, and high-touch surfaces.
  • Empty trash and dispose of waste properly.
  • Perform laundry duties, including washing, drying, folding, sorting, and distributing resident laundry, linens, towels, and bedding.
  • Monitor housekeeping and laundry supply levels and notify supervisors when restocking is needed.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of housekeeping closets, laundry rooms, storage rooms, and supply areas.
  • Follow infection control, sanitation, and safety procedures to promote a healthy environment for residents and staff.
  • Report maintenance concerns, safety hazards, damaged equipment, or supply shortages to the appropriate personnel.
  • Assist with room turnover and preparation for new residents as needed.
  • Support special cleaning projects, seasonal deep cleaning, and facility events.
  • Provide courteous and respectful service to residents, families, visitors, and team members.
  • Work cooperatively with other departments to ensure a clean, comfortable, and welcoming environment.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to work 30 plus hours a week including every other weekend.
  • Reliable attendance and a positive attitude.
  • Must successfully complete a pre-employment background check.

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism when interacting with residents, families, and staff.
