Job summary

Kern Valley Healthcare District in Lake Isabella, CA, seeks a housekeeping professional to perform routine cleaning of patient rooms, units, offices and public areas to maintain a clean and sanitary environment. The role requires flexibility to cover day, evening, or night shifts and prior housekeeping experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent required.
• Previous housekeeping experience preferred.
• Must be able to read, write and understand English and interface effectively and tactfully with staff and the general public.

Responsibilities

• Performs routine cleaning of patient and resident rooms, patient care units, offices, clinical areas, waiting areas, lobbies, restrooms, corridors, elevators and stairways in a clean, neat and sanitary manner.
• Performs routine cleaning of patient and resident rooms, patient care units, offices, clinical areas, waiting areas, lobbies, lounges, restrooms, corridors, elevators, and stairways in a clean, neat, and sanitary manner.
• Reports any furniture, fixtures, building, equipment repairs required to Lead Housekeeper.
• Completes work assignments in a timely manner.
• Utilizes the appropriate chemicals and supplies according to procedure.
• Use and maintain equipment properly
• Assist visitors with directions whenever requested.
• Always introduces self to patients, families, and visitors.
• Reports safety hazards as appropriate.
• Transports trash and hazardous waste to appropriate disposal area.
• Follows all infection control practices including handwashing techniques, standard precautions, and isolation precautions.
• Maintains set quality standards when performing job duties.
• Ability to do work on his/her own with normal supervision.
• Works day, evening, or night shifts, as assigned.
• Observes safety and security precautions at all times.
