Job summary

Atria Senior Living is seeking a Housekeeper in Kennebunk, ME to maintain clean apartments and common areas and support resident well-being. You will perform cleaning, laundry, and laundry-related tasks, ensuring high standards of sanitation and safety throughout the community.

You’ll work with a team, follow training programs, operate standard cleaning equipment, and communicate effectively with residents and staff. Competitive benefits accompany a supportive work environment.

Qualifications

• Must successfully complete all Company specified training programs.
• Able to operate cleaning equipment such as iron, washer & dryer, brooms, mops, vacuums, etc.
• Able to work various schedules and shifts as needed.
• Basic reading, writing, and mathematical skills.
• Communicate effectively in English with employees and residents.
• General knowledge of sanitation.
• Strong organization and time management skills.
• Basic computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a clean and safe environment for residents and staff by cleaning apartments, common areas and amenities.
• Clean public areas and resident apartments including bathrooms, kitchens, patios and windows.
• Perform laundry duties: wash, dry, fold and change bed linens.
• Stock the cleaning cart and replenish supplies as needed.
• Disinfect and sanitize equipment and facilities; report issues promptly.
• Coordinate with maintenance for repairs and report unsafe conditions.

Responsibilities

The Housekeeper is responsible for maintaining a clean and safe environment for residents and staff by performing cleaning duties assigned to apartments, interior and exterior common areas and amenities.

• Clean public areas and resident’s apartments, including bathrooms, kitchens, patios & windows, floors, furniture, and common areas.
• Perform all housekeeping duties including:
  • Distributing launtered articles and linens
  • Changing beds
  • Cleaning public restrooms and replenishing supplies as needed
  • Sweeping, scrubbing, waxing, and polishing floors; cleaning rugs, carpets, upholstered furniture, and draperies
  • Dusting furniture and equipment
  • Polishing metalwork
  • Washing walls, woodwork, windows, door panels, and sills
• Performs all laundry duties, including:
  • Washing and drying resident laundry and textiles in provided appliances
  • Folding and/or hanging laundry appropriately
  • Distributing launtered articles and linens
  • Changing bed linens.
• Maintain resident laundry areas, including mopping floors, washing walls, and checking lint traps regularly.
• Wash windows at reasonable heights throughout the community as requested.
• Keep utility and storage rooms in clean and orderly condition.
• Disinfect and sanitize equipment and supplies.
• Stock the cleaning cart with supplies.
• Empty wastebaskets and transport trash and waste to the disposal area(s).
• Work with maintenance to ensure that the trash and dumpster areas are clean.
• Request maintenance work orders for any maintenance repairs needed.
• Report resident issues or changes in health or living status promptly.
• Reports potentially unsafe conditions or maintenance-related issues promptly to Supervisor.
• May perform other duties as needed and/or assigned.

Salary Range

The wage range for this position is $18.00/hr - $21.60/hr, dependent on prior work history and experience
