Thunder Bay Community Health Service, Inc. is seeking a reliable, detail-oriented Housekeeper for the Onaway Clinic. This after-hours role offers a part-time schedule with approximately 12–15 hours per week, Monday–Friday evenings.

You will clean exam rooms, offices, and common areas, following safety and infection prevention procedures. Ideal candidates are dependable, punctual, able to work independently, and comfortable in a healthcare setting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Previous housekeeping or custodial experience preferred.
• Background check is required.
• Reliable transportation to Onaway Clinic is required.

Responsibilities

• Clean and sanitize exam rooms, offices, waiting areas, and restrooms.
• Sweep, mop, vacuum floors, and spot-clean surfaces.
• Disinfect furniture, sinks, and doors following procedures.
• Empty trash and recycle; dispose of waste properly.
• Restock soap and paper products; manage supplies.
• Keep closets and supply areas clean, safe, and organized.
• Operate cleaning equipment safely; follow infection control rules.
• Report maintenance or safety issues promptly.

Do you take pride in creating a clean, organized, and comfortable environment? Thunder Bay Community Health Service, Inc. (TBCHS) is looking for a reliable and detail-oriented Housekeeper to join our team at our Onaway Clinic.

In this role, you’ll help maintain a clean, sanitary, and welcoming environment for our patients, visitors, and staff. This is an after-hours position, making it a great opportunity for someone looking for a consistent part-time schedule.

Location: Onaway Clinic

Hours: Approximately 12–15 hours per week

Schedule: 5 days per week, generally Monday–Friday

Typical Hours: Approximately 5:00 p.m.–8:00 p.m., with some flexibility based on clinic needs

Travel: No travel between TBCHS locations is currently expected

What You’ll Do

Clean and sanitize exam rooms, offices, waiting areas, hallways, break rooms, restrooms, and other assigned areas.

Sweep, mop, vacuum, and spot-clean floors, carpets, mats, baseboards, and other surfaces.

Clean and disinfect exam tables, furniture, fixtures, sinks, mirrors, glass, doors, and other surfaces following established procedures.

Empty trash and recycling and properly dispose of waste.

Restock soap, paper products, and other facility supplies.

Keep cleaning equipment, janitorial closets, and supply areas clean, safe, and organized.

Safely use cleaning products and equipment while following safety, infection prevention, and sanitation procedures.

Complete cleaning checklists and promptly report supply needs, maintenance concerns, safety issues, damage, or unusual conditions.

Maintain building security and protect confidential patient, employee, and organizational information while working after hours.

Maintain dependable attendance and communicate appropriately regarding scheduling or coverage needs.

Physical Requirements

This is a physically active position. The employee must be able to frequently stand, walk, bend, stoop, kneel, reach, push, pull, and perform repetitive tasks. The ability to safely operate cleaning equipment and lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 pounds is required.
