Job summary

Generation Hospitality-5 is seeking a detail-oriented Housekeeper to maintain clean, safe rooms and public areas in a fast-paced hotel environment. You will follow established standards, use cleaning equipment safely, and work with the team to meet guest expectations.

Ideal candidates are reliable, able to stand for long periods, and comfortable lifting up to 40 pounds. Full-time, hourly shifts may include weekends and holidays.

About The Role

As a Housekeeper in our Housekeeping department, you will play a key role in creating a clean, safe, and comfortable environment for all guests, visitors, and staff. This hourly, full-time position is ideal for someone who is detail-oriented, takes pride in their work, and can maintain high standards of cleanliness and organization. You will work both independently and as part of a team to ensure that rooms, common areas, and facilities consistently meet or exceed our quality and safety expectations.

What You'll Do
  • Clean and sanitize guest rooms, offices, restrooms, and common areas according to established standards and procedures
  • Dust, sweep, mop, vacuum, and polish floors and surfaces in assigned areas
  • Change bed linens, make beds, and replace towels and amenities as needed
  • Empty trash and recycling receptacles and dispose of waste in designated areas
  • Clean and disinfect high-touch surfaces such as door handles, light switches, and remote controls
  • Restock supplies including toiletries, linens, cleaning materials, and paper products
  • Inspect rooms and areas for cleanliness, maintenance issues, and safety hazards; report any concerns promptly
  • Use cleaning equipment, tools, and chemicals safely and correctly, following all guidelines and training
  • Follow department schedules and instructions to complete daily, weekly, and periodic cleaning tasks
  • Uphold all health, safety, and sanitation policies and comply with relevant regulations
  • Work collaboratively with supervisors and team members to prioritize tasks and support special projects or events
  • Respond to guest or staff requests for cleaning or housekeeping support in a courteous and timely manner
  • Maintain proper care, storage, and organization of housekeeping carts, closets, and equipment
  • Participate in required training sessions and meetings to stay current with procedures and standards
Qualifications
  • Previous housekeeping, janitorial, or custodial experience preferred but not always required
  • Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions in English
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and manage time effectively
  • Physical ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, and lift or move items (often up to 25-40 pounds) throughout the shift
  • Comfort using basic cleaning equipment and tools such as vacuums, mops, and carts
  • Willingness to work a full-time hourly schedule, which may include weekends, holidays, and varying shifts as needed
  • Reliable, punctual, and able to maintain a consistent work schedule
  • Professional and respectful demeanor when interacting with guests, visitors, and coworkers
  • Ability to follow safety procedures, including proper use of cleaning chemicals and PPE
