Job summary

Maryville Care in Beaverton, OR, is seeking a dedicated Housekeeper to maintain a clean, sanitary, and safe environment for residents, staff and visitors. The role requires following infection control standards, facility policies, and rotating weekend shifts.

You will perform general cleaning, assist with laundry and waste, and support special cleaning projects while complying with HIPAA guidelines and training requirements. Previous healthcare housekeeping experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform general cleaning, including sweeping, mopping, dusting, disinfecting, and emptying waste containers.
• Clean and maintain bathrooms, shower facilities, resident rooms, and community areas.
• Collect and transport laundry, trash barrels, cleaning supplies, and custodial carts.
• Follow established work schedules and complete assigned duties with minimal supervision while complying with supervisory instructions and follow-up procedures.
• Demonstrate proper custodial care, safe work practices, and adherence to infection control standards.
• Comply with all company policies and complete required monthly training.
• Maintains confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA guidelines.
• Assist with special cleaning projects or events as assigned.

This position ensures compliance with facility policies, infection control standards, and all applicable state and federal regulations. Candidates must be be available to work rotating weekends.Responsibilities:Perform general cleaning, including sweeping, mopping, dusting, disinfecting, and emptying waste containers.Clean and maintain bathrooms, shower facilities, resident rooms, and community areas.Collect and transport laundry, trash barrels, cleaning supplies, and custodial carts.Follow established work schedules and complete assigned duties with minimal supervision while complying with supervisory instructions and follow-up procedures.Demonstrate proper custodial care, safe work practices, and adherence to infection control standards.Comply with all company policies and complete required monthly training.Maintains confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA guidelines.Assist with special cleaning projects or events as assigned.Required Skills/Abilities:Able to push cleaning carts, delivery carts, laundry and trash barrels.Have some formal training in the housekeeping/custodial industry and understand basic principles of sanitation.Be able to handle and demonstrate proper use of Housekeeping/Custodial equipment.Be able to perform routine, repetitious tasks.Have the ability to follow written and oral instructions.Demonstrate tact in working with people.Have positive interpersonal relations.Education and Experience:High school diploma or equivalent.Ability to read, write, understand, and follow written and oral instructions.Demonstrate professionalism, reliability, attention to detail, patience, empathy, and compassion when interacting with residents, staff, and visitors.Previous housekeeping or custodial experience preferred.Preferred Skills:Prior experience in a healthcare setting is helpful.Physical RequirementsAbility to work in temperature-controlled office areas and throughout the facility.Ability to walk extensively throughout the facility and stand for prolonged periods.Ability to stand on ladders and step stools when necessary, following established safety procedures.Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds, including cleaning supplies, laundry, trash barrels, and custodial carts.Ability to bend, stoop, squat, kneel, reach overhead, and perform repetitive movements as required for cleaning tasks.Adequate hand-eye coordination, manual dexterity, and grip strength to operate cleaning equipment, handle supplies, and perform detailed custodial duties.Ability to perform the essential physical functions of the position safely and effectively, with or without reasonable accommodation.
