Job summary

Beaver Dam Health Care Center is looking for a dedicated Housekeeper to join our team in Beaver Dam, Wisconsin. The Housekeeper will be responsible for maintaining cleanliness across the facility, including performing cleaning tasks, laundry, and ensuring a pleasant environment for our residents.

The ideal candidate will have strong attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team. This role is vital in providing a comfortable and safe living space for our residents.

Qualifications

  • Previous housekeeping experience preferred, but not required.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Familiarity with cleaning tools, equipment, and products.

Job Overview:

The Housekeeper is responsible for ensuring the cleanliness and upkeep of assigned areas. This includes performing cleaning, laundry, and maintenance tasks, as well as ensuring that the environment is well-maintained, safe, and pleasant for all residents and family members.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Cleaning Tasks:

    • Sweep, mop, vacuum, and dust all areas of the facility.
    • Clean and sanitize bathrooms, kitchens, living areas, and bedrooms.
    • Change bed linens and make beds.
    • Wash windows and mirrors as required.
    • Clean floors, carpets, rugs, and furniture.
  2. Laundry and Linen Management:

    • Wash, dry, fold, and iron laundry as needed.
    • Ensure that all linens (sheets, towels, etc.) are cleaned and replaced.
    • Sort and organize laundry and linens for efficient storage.
  3. Organization:

    • Ensure rooms, hallways, and common areas are organized and well-presented.
    • Replenish supplies such as soap, toilet paper, and cleaning materials as needed.
  4. Waste Management:

    • Empty trash cans and dispose of waste appropriately.
    • Recycle items as necessary.
  5. Safety and Maintenance:

    • Ensure all cleaning products and tools are used safely and in accordance with guidelines.
    • Report any maintenance issues (broken equipment, plumbing issues, etc.) to the appropriate personnel.
  6. Guest/Resident Interaction (if applicable):

    • Greet guests and residents, ensuring their comfort and needs are met.
    • Respond to any special requests regarding cleaning or services.
    • Maintain a high standard of professionalism and courtesy when interacting with others.
Qualifications:
  • Experience: Previous housekeeping experience preferred, but not required.
  • Skills:
    • Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
    • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
    • Strong communication skills.
    • Physical stamina and the ability to perform repetitive tasks.
    • Familiarity with cleaning tools, equipment, and products.
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Work Environment:
  • Long term care facility
  • May require standing, bending, lifting, and carrying cleaning equipment.
  • Must be comfortable working with cleaning chemicals and equipment.
