Position Overview

Concorde Education is seeking an engaging, student-centered Household Science Instructor to facilitate a short-format after-school enrichment course for students (grade band varies by assignment). This course introduces students to practical, real-world science concepts through safe, hands‑on experiments and demonstrations using common household materials. Students explore how science shows up in everyday life—such as cooking chemistry, cleaning reactions, states of matter, simple machines at home, and basic health and environmental concepts.

All activities must be age‑appropriate, safety‑first, and aligned with site policies. Experiments should avoid hazardous chemicals and emphasize supervised, classroom‑safe procedures. The instructor will deliver instruction across a typical 10‑week cycle, with pacing adapted to student needs and site logistics.

What You Will Teach

Students will investigate everyday phenomena through inquiry‑based learning: asking questions, making predictions, testing ideas, recording observations, and explaining results. Lessons build foundational scientific reasoning skills while connecting core science concepts to real‑life household contexts.
