JMM Home Assist, LLC in Norwalk, Iowa is seeking an experienced household assistant to help run a busy home. This full-time role covers mornings 7:00am–4:00pm, Monday through Friday, with a 1-hour unpaid lunch, totaling 40 paid hours per week.

Household Assistant – Norwalk, Iowa

Full-time | Monday–Friday, 7:00am–4:00pm | $24/hour, paid weekly

We're a busy family in Norwalk looking for an experienced, dependable household assistant to help keep our home (and our mornings) running smoothly. If you're the kind of person who walks into a chaotic kitchen and instinctively starts making order out of it, you'll fit right in.

The basics

• Monday through Friday, 7:00am to 4:00pm with a 1-hour unpaid lunch (40 paid hours/week)
• $22 - $25 per hour, paid weekly
• W-2 employment with taxes withheld
• We provide a vehicle for use during work hours, fully covered under our auto insurance
• We provide a work phone
• Please note: this role does not currently include paid holidays, PTO, or sick time

What you’ll be doing

• Helping get our two kids (ages 3 and 5) ready in the morning, feeding them breakfast, and driving them to school or camp
• Grocery shopping and preparing meals for the family
• General housekeeping and tidying
• Store returns, errands, and light household organizing projects
• Packing and shipping orders for our home-based business (printing labels, boxing packages, and carrier drop-offs)
• Occasional lifting (up to 50 lbs) when resetting or decluttering spaces

Who we’re looking for

• At least 2 years of experience as a nanny, caregiver, or household assistant, with references
• Someone proactive and dependable with a real eye for detail
• Comfortable creating structure and bringing calm to busy mornings
• Enjoys planning meals, running errands, and keeping a household on track
• Comfortable around a small, friendly dog
