What you do in this role:

• Oversee the hospital operations during times when administration is not present
• Monitor performance, maintain schedules, and provide education and coaching as needed
• Assist the Director of Nursing (DON) in conducting department meetings
• Demonstrate thorough nursing knowledge, including assessments, treatment planning, discharge and admission procedures, medication distribution, and medical care
• Deliver quality nursing care to ensure the goals of the treatment plan are achieved

Qualifications:

• Must be at least 21 years old and a graduate of an accredited nursing program
• Current, unrestricted license to practice nursing in the state
• CPR Certification and Crisis Prevention Training (CPI) within 30 days of employment and before patient contact
• Ability to work flexible hours and overtime as needed
• Previous experience in a psychiatric healthcare facility, with direct experience working with chemical dependency, dual diagnosis, psychiatric, and geriatric patients preferred; experience in patient assessments, family motivation, treatment planning, and communication with external review organizations is a plus
