Job summary

UChicago Medicine AdventHealth in Illinois is seeking a Part-time Nursing Supervisor to provide clinical and administrative supervision after regular hours. You will manage hospital personnel and resources to meet standards and coordinate with nursing leaders for hospital activities.

The role requires RN licensure, 1+ year of leadership experience, and 3+ years of nursing experience. Strong communication skills and proficiency with nursing software are essential.

Qualifications

• RN license active in good standing
• 1+ year supervisory/charge nurse experience
• 3+ years of nursing experience
• Associate degree in Nursing is required; Bachelor's preferred

Responsibilities

• Provides clinical and administrative supervision after regular business hours.
• Manages hospital personnel and resources to meet standards, goals, and department requirements.
• Reassigns employees to different duties to optimize skills, abilities, and workloads.
• Makes regular rounds to identify problems and facilitate efficient resolution.
• Reviews reports on hospital activities and initiates or responds with appropriate actions."
• Participates in nursing, hospital, and medical staff committees as assigned.
• Attends regular meetings with management to resolve problems, exchange information, and plan accordingly.
• Collaborates with nursing leaders to coordinate hospital activities.

Schedule: Part Time, 24 hours/week; Weekends only Saturday and Sundays 7:00pm - 7:30am

• Reviews and interprets hospital policies and procedures.
• Collaborates with nursing leaders to coordinate hospital activities.
• Provides temporary solutions to identified problems and communicates necessary follow-up.
• Reports and responds to emergency situations.
• Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Proficient in nursing computer applications and Office products (Excel, Word, etc) [Required]
• Able to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing [Required]
• Additional languages [Preferred]
• Must have the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care that addresses the physical, psychosocial, educational, safety, and age-appropriate needs of the patient population served within the department [Required]

Education

• Associate's of Nursing [Required]
• Bachelor's of Nursing [Preferred]

Work Experience

• 1+ experience as a supervisor, charge nurse, or comparable leadership experience [Required]
• 3+ nursing experience [Required]

Licenses and Certifications

• Registered Nurse (RN) [Required]
• Basic Life Support - CPR Cert (BLS) [Required]
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support Cert (ACLS) [Required]

Pay Range

Pay Range: $40.85 - $75.98
