Job summary

ServiceMaster Clean is seeking a diligent janitorial associate in Hattiesburg, MS to perform cleaning duties across assigned facilities. You will follow a daily task list, maintain supplies, and ensure high standards of cleanliness for customers.

Responsibilities include sweeping, mopping, dusting, sanitizing surfaces, and coordinating with site contacts. Must pass background checks and drug screening; starting pay is $7.25 per hour with potential weekend work and 10–20 hours per week.

Responsibilities

• Follow the task list for your assigned building or position; complete tasks within the time allotted
• Keep janitorial closet clean, neat, and organized
• Maintain equipment clean and supplies organized
• Obtain and maintain passing scores on janitorial Quality Assurance inspections
• Communicate with supervisor and division manager to ensure supplies and customer expectations are met
• Notify customer at facility as needed
• Maintain a safe work environment with proper signage and labeling
• Secure building after completing tasks
• Vacuum carpet and carpet runner; mop floors; empty trash and replace liners
• Dust desks, ledges, and horizontal surfaces; sanitize telephones
• Spot clean walls and sanitize sinks, counters, and microwaves
• Fill soap and paper towel dispensers; arrange furniture as needed
• Replace disposable items: toilet paper, hand towels, and soap
• Clean and sanitize toilets, urinals, sinks; mop tile floors
• Notify building contact of irregularities and maintenance needs
• Turn off lights, secure building and set alarm
• Must pass background check and drug screen
• Compensation: Starts at $7.25 per hour; most accounts Monday–Friday with some weekend work; averages 10–20 hours per week

Job description

Perform all related tasks that are needed to ensure the assigned job-related responsibilities are carried out so the assigned building/account is cleaned to the standards of ServiceMaster and the customer task list.

Description of Duties:

• Follow the task list for your assigned building or assigned position. Carry out assigned tasks within the time allotted. *(See General Task List Below)
• Maintain your janitorial closet clean, neat, and organized.
• Keep equipment clean and supplies organized.
• Obtain and maintain passing scores on janitorial Quality Assurance inspections.
• Communicate regularly with your supervisor and division manager to ensure that you have the items needed to perform your job and that you are meeting the customer’s expectations.
• Communicate with your customer at your assigned facility as needed.
• Maintain a safe work environment by ensuring that wet floor signs are used when mopping floors, spray bottles and other containers are appropriately labeled, and your work area is secured at all times.

• Empty trash, replace liners as needed
• Dry and damp mop floor
• Clean and sanitize: sink, counter and outside of microwave
• Fill soap and paper towel dispenser
• Dust ledges and other horizontal surfaces
• Arrange furniture as needed
• Empty trash, replace liners as needed
• Replace all disposable items: toilet paper, hand towels and soap
• Clean and sanitize: sinks, toilets and urinals
• Dry and damp mop tile floors
• Notify building contact of irregularities and maintenance needs
• Turn off all lights (except those designated), secure building and set alarm

Must be able to pass a background check and drug screen

Compensation: Starts at $7.25 per hour: Most Accounts are Monday through Friday, we do have some weekend work avaliable: Averages 10 to 20 hours per week: Great way to add to your monthly income
