Job summary

Summit Hospitality Group offers a Hotel Apprentice program designed to train individuals in all facets of hotel operations. Apprentices rotate through Front Desk, Food & Beverage, Housekeeping, Sales, and Engineering/Maintenance, gaining practical hands-on experience and mentorship to prepare for a career in hospitality.

The program emphasizes learning brand standards, safety, and guest service excellence while building a broad operational foundation for future opportunities within the industry.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred; hospitality or apprenticeship exposure is a plus.
• Interest in pursuing a career in hospitality or hotel operations.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Willingness to learn and work across multiple departments.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to adapt to changing priorities and environments.
• Maintains professional and positive attitude.
• Basic computer skills preferred.

Responsibilities

• Participate in a structured apprenticeship and cross-training program across multiple hotel departments.
• Learn and follow hotel policies, procedures, brand standards, and safety requirements.
• Provide friendly, professional, and attentive service to guests, coworkers, and partners.
• Develop a working knowledge of hotel operations and how departments support the guest experience.
• Complete assigned training, projects, and departmental rotations successfully.
• Maintain a professional appearance, positive attitude, and strong work ethic.
• Assist managers and team members with daily operational needs as assigned.
• Follow all safety, security, and emergency procedures.
• Maintain confidentiality regarding guest, employee, and hotel information.
• Assist with guest check-in/check-out and reservation processes in Front Desk as applicable.
• Learn procedures for handling guest service issues and resolving concerns.
• Assist with restaurant, bar, banquet, breakfast, or other Food & Beverage operations as applicable.
• Provide courteous and efficient service and learn menus, service standards, and inventory procedures.
• Learn housekeeping standards and assist with inspections and maintenance of guest rooms and public areas.
• Support housekeeping operations, linen, laundry, and supply processes as needed.
• Gain exposure to hotel sales activities and assist with administrative tasks and client communications.
• Learn about group bookings, corporate accounts, events, and revenue opportunities.
