Job summary

Holiday Inn Express & Suites Elko is seeking a Maintenance Technician to safeguard guest rooms, public areas, and essential systems. You will perform preventive maintenance, handle repairs, and respond to requests to keep the property safe, clean, and welcoming.

The role requires teamwork with Housekeeping and Front Desk, availability on weekends and some on-call shifts, and the ability to operate hand and power tools safely. Prior facilities or hotel maintenance experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Previous maintenance, facilities, construction, or hotel experience preferred.
• Working knowledge of plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, and general building maintenance.
• Ability to safely operate hand and power tools.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and prioritize multiple tasks.
• Valid driver's license preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance and repairs in guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house spaces.
• Respond promptly to guest and staff maintenance requests.
• Troubleshoot and repair plumbing, electrical, HVAC, lighting, appliances, furniture, doors, locks, and other hotel equipment.
• Complete preventive maintenance programs to maintain hotel standards and reduce equipment downtime.
• Conduct regular inspections of building systems and identify repair needs.
• Perform painting, drywall repair, basic carpentry, and other general maintenance tasks.
• Maintain exterior grounds, parking areas, walkways, signage, and lighting.
• Assist with snow removal, ice control, and seasonal property maintenance.
• Follow all safety procedures and maintain compliance with OSHA regulations and company policies.
• Maintain tools, equipment, and maintenance inventory in an organized manner.
• Support emergency response efforts during power outages, weather events, and other property emergencies.
• Work closely with Housekeeping, Front Desk, and Management to ensure guest satisfaction and hotel readiness.
