Job summary

Lexima Lodging in Wichita, Kansas, seeks a dependable Maintenance Technician to keep the hotel safe, functional, and well maintained. You will perform preventive and corrective maintenance across the property, identify issues, troubleshoot effectively, and complete repairs within your skill level while recognizing when specialized outside service is required.

The ideal candidate has 2+ years in maintenance or engineering, preferably in a hotel, and fluent English with strong communication.

Qualifications

• At least 2 years maintenance or engineering experience, preferably in a hotel establishment.
• Must be fluent in English and have good verbal and written communication skills.
• Experience reading prints/schematics and operating equipment is preferred.
• Basic computer skills; comfortable learning new technology.
• Able to handle stressful situations and work in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and organizational skills.
• Independent thinker who can make decisions based on available information.

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with Health & Safety, Food Hygiene and Fire Safety policies.
• Develop and follow up action plans from technical visits and audits.
• Operate and maintain hotel mechanical systems (domestic water, hot water, chilled water, pool).
• Maintain parts inventory, label and log parts, and track warranties and service bulletins.
• Assist with building maintenance and complete work orders (ceiling tiles, lights, vinyl, etc.).
• Maintain a safe work/storage area and follow safety standards for tools and equipment.
• Follow hotel brand purchasing procedures with nominated suppliers.
• Assist other engineers with repairs.
• Fill out daily paperwork.
• Support the General Manager/Chief Engineer with other duties as needed.
