Job summary

Hilton Garden Inn Old Town San Diego is seeking a Maintenance Worker to respond to General Maintenance service calls under the Director of Engineering. The role involves basic repair and upkeep of facilities, guest rooms and public spaces, prioritizing urgent work orders while minimizing guest disruption.

Responsibilities include inspecting machinery for safety, moving furniture as needed, maintaining tools and supplies, and following safety regulations.

Qualifications

• Ability to obtain and maintain government licenses or permits.
• Comply with current safety and health requirements.
• Bachelor-level blueprint reading is not required but helpful.
• Must withstand heavy outdoor labor in varied weather.
• Ability to work without supervision and maintain punctuality.

Responsibilities

• Performs basic repair and maintenance of facilities, guest rooms and public spaces.
• Maintains building by performing basic repairs, carpentry, shoveling, cleaning and related maintenance.
• Prioritizes work orders to minimize guest inconveniences.
• Inspects and maintains machinery and equipment for safety and operation.
• Moves furniture, equipment, and guest luggage as needed.
• Maintains inventory of tools and supplies; orders items as required.
• Provides manpower assistance and backup to the Hotel.
• Drives to pick up supplies; completes inventory replacement per procedure.
• Keeps work areas clean and organized; handles chemicals per safety rules.
• Ensures security of assigned keys; performs additional tasks as needed.
