Job summary

Hampton Inn Suites Kutztown in Kutztown, PA seeks a hands-on Maintenance Technician to perform preventive and repair work across guest rooms and public areas. You will replace ceilings, paint areas, handle basic electrical and plumbing tasks, and maintain curb appeal while ensuring safety and OSHA compliance.

Flexibility with weekend/holiday shifts is required; the role emphasizes guest satisfaction and teamwork with hotel staff to uphold quality standards and operational efficiency.

Qualifications

• High School diploma and trade school coursework preferred.
• Previous maintenance experience or equivalent training required.
• Flexibility with shifts including holidays and weekends may be required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with preventative maintenance and repair work on ceilings, sheetrock and wallpaper.
• Install or repair sheetrock and wall coverings.
• Paint designated areas and items.
• Replace electrical fixtures, switches, receptacles, and bulbs.
• Perform minor plumbing functions.
• Focus on guest satisfaction and teamwork.
• Maintain curb appeal: snow removal, landscaping, trash removal.
• Follow safe work practices and OSHA/MSDS guidelines.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Perform preventative and repair maintenance work to ensure hotel is maintained according to established quality and sustainability standards while treating guests in a warm and friendly manner.

Essential Job Functions

• Assist with preventative maintenance and complete work orders related to replacing and repairing ceiling tiles, sheetrock and wallpaper.
• Install or repair sheet rock and other wall coverings.
• Paint designated areas and items.
• Replace basic electrical fixtures, light switches, receptacles, light bulbs and fixtures.
• Perform minor plumbing functions.
• Focus on guest satisfaction scores and work toward increasing departmental and overall guest satisfaction.
• Maintain the curb appeal including but not limited to snow removal, lawn care, gardening and trash removal.
• Practice safe work habits, wear protective safety equipment and comply with MSDS and OSHA standards.
• Perform other duties as requested by management.

Qualifications

High School diploma and Trade school course work in related field preferred. Previous maintenance experience or equivalent training required.

Availability & Physical Requirements

Work schedule varies and may include working on holidays and weekends and alternate shifts. Requires standing for extended periods, walking, pushing, lifting up to 50 pounds, bending and reaching, kneeling, stooping, crawling and climbing.
